On July 11, 2000
Ms. Rivas was working as a nanny at a residence in south Oklahoma
City where she was killed. the suspect was seen sitting on
the curb across the street from the house. Apparently at one
point he got up and walked to the front door of the residence
where he asked one of the children to get their mother. On
coming to the door, the suspect shot and killed the victim and
injured two small children. There is no known reason for the
murder and it may even be possible the victim was not the intended
target. The suspect was described as a white or
light-skinned male, 30 years of age, 5'10" tall and weighing over
200 pounds. He also had reddish, brown hair. The
weapon was a semi-automatic handgun. If you have any information
