On June 2, 2005
at approximately 10:15 p.m., Mr. Navarro was returning home from
work. As he parked in front of his apartment at 4752 N.W.
23rd, his wife looked down at him from the second floor balcony of
their apartment. She reported that as her husband exited his
vehicle, she saw a black male approach him and speak to him.
She could not understand what was said, but all at once the
suspect pulled a gun and her husband began struggling with the
suspect. During the brief struggle, the suspect shot and
killed Mr. Navarro in what appeared to be a robbery attempt.
The suspect turned and fired his weapon at Mr. Navarro's wife and
then fled on foot. She was not hit. There is no
further descriptive information on the suspect and there was no
vehicle observed leaving the area. If you have any
