| Recruit step A is the
entry-level salary. Recruit Step B increase is received after
graduation from the police academy. Officer step A is received at completion
of probation one year after academy graduation. Each subsequent year after
graduation you will receive an additional step raise until top pay for the
range has been reached. This pay plan does not reflect longevity or
college incentive pay. College incentive pay is as follows: |
| Incentive begins 1 month after successful graduation from an academy. |
| Tuition reimbursement for college: |
| All officers shall receive
tuition reimbursement for college level courses according to the following
conditions: a, Courses must be taken for credit hours at an accredited college, university, or junior college. Courses not taken for credit (course monitoring, etc.) are not covered. b, The City will reimburse officers 100% or their tuition costs for courses which are satisfactorily completed up to a maximum of $600.00 per semester. Satisfactory completion shall mean a grade of C minus or above or evidence of satisfactory completion in a non-graded course. c, The FOP and Police Department will jointly determine the degrees which will qualify. d, You must complete an academy and
your Field Training program to start receiving your reimbursement. |
